Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-13
This policy explains how the Houmtna Cup website and app handle data. The platform shows results of neighborhood football tournaments; visitors do not need an account.
Data we display
Tournament organizers publish team and player names, shirt numbers, match results, goals and cards. This information is public by nature because it describes a sports competition.
To correct or remove your name from a tournament, contact its organizer or message us through our Facebook page.
Admin accounts
For tournament admins only: name, email, a hashed password (bcrypt) and last sign-in time, used solely for signing in and permissions.
If a password is forgotten, a 6-digit code is sent to the account email to set a new one; the code is deleted once used or after 10 minutes.
Notifications
Website: if you turn them on, the server stores the subscription address your browser generates and your language, not linked to your identity. Turn them off any time from the bell 🔔.
App: we use Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging. Your phone subscribes to a public per-language topic; we do not store your device identifier. Turn them off from “More” or your phone’s settings.
Visitor accounts
Creating an account is optional. If you do, we keep your email, the name you entered (if any) and your last sign-in date. No password is stored: you sign in with a code sent to your email.
Codes are sent through the Resend service from no-reply@houmtna-cup.com. You can delete your account at any time from “My account”, which erases its data immediately.
Advertising
We may show local ads from shops and activities in your area, and Google ads (AdSense on the website, AdMob in the app) only in the dedicated ad spots and when no local ad is available.
Google may use cookies or your phone’s advertising ID to serve and measure ads, as described in its policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
You can turn off personalised ads in your Google account (adssettings.google.com) or in your phone settings → Google → Ads.
Storage on your device
Only your preferences are stored on your device: language, theme, last notification seen, and whether you closed the Facebook window. In the app, an admin’s sign-in token is kept in the phone’s secure storage.
We count visits anonymously: your device generates a random ID sent with the page viewed and the wilaya you chose, with no IP address or personal data. We use no third-party analytics; Google ads are described in the “Advertising” section.
Hosting and processors
Data is hosted on MongoDB Atlas (EU – Frankfurt), the website is served by Vercel and app notifications are sent through Firebase (Google), which process data only on our behalf.
Children
The platform is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children; player names are entered by organizers.
Contact and changes
For questions or deletion requests, message us through our Facebook page. We may update this policy; the date of the last update is shown above.
